Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This page explains what cookies EULLM uses, why, and how you can manage your preferences. We keep cookie use to an absolute minimum consistent with operating the site.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser when you visit a website. Cookies can remember your preferences or collect anonymous usage statistics.

1. Technical cookies (always active)

These cookies are strictly necessary for the site to function. They do not require your consent under the EU ePrivacy Directive.

  • Language preference โ€” key: lang-pref. Saves your language choice (English / Italian) so the site remembers it on your next visit. Duration: 1 year.
  • Cookie consent โ€” key: stit-cookie-consent (localStorage). Stores your accept/decline choice for analytics cookies. Duration: persistent until cleared.

2. Analytics cookies (opt-in)

With your consent we activate Matomo Analytics, a privacy-respecting open-source analytics platform. Our Matomo instance is self-hosted in the European Union at analytics.i3k.dev.

  • Data never leaves EU infrastructure.
  • IP addresses are anonymised before storage.
  • Data is not shared with third parties or used for advertising.
  • We do not use Matomo's cross-site tracking features.

Matomo cookies used when you consent:

  • _pk_id.* โ€” identifies unique visitors (anonymised). Duration: 13 months.
  • _pk_ses.* โ€” tracks the current session. Duration: 30 minutes.

Third-party services

  • Vercel Analytics โ€” collects aggregate, cookie-free traffic metrics (page views, referrers). No personal data is stored. Active on all visits regardless of cookie preference.
